Hip seat at 30 degrees, five pockets, under a pound

Each fabric is priced on its own, so the figures differ by a dollar or two. Prices from our last update, 20 September 2026.

A hip seat is a padded shelf you wear. The baby sits on it, your arm rests on top instead of taking the weight underneath, and the thirty degree tilt keeps them leaning into you.

It goes on in about five seconds. Wrap the belt high and tight above the hip bones, do up the buckle, pull the strap. A grandparent in one of our reviews describes doing exactly that at sixty five with bad knees.

The five pockets are the reason several owners stop carrying a bag. A bottle goes in the side holder, nappies in the front, phone and keys in the zip.

Two fabrics, black and light grey, both mesh backed so the two of you do not overheat on a warm day.

What it does not do

  • It is not a wrap or a soft structured carrier. One hand stays on the baby at all times.
  • It will not hold a sleeping newborn against your chest. That is a different kind of carrier.
  • Comfort runs out before the fabric does. Owners report the belt pressing on the lower back past about twenty pounds if it is not pulled properly tight.
  • The velcro is strong enough to catch the back of your hand. One owner wrote to warn about exactly that.

Totally worth buying! I am 65 years old and toting around my 3 month old grandson. He doesn’t weigh that much yet, but this thing makes me able to tote him a long time without getting tired. I also have bad knees and this allowed me good stability when moving around and using steps. I was able to put it on and go in about 5 seconds. Definitely worth its price!

I picked this up hoping for something easier on my back than holding her on my hip all day, and while it does the job, comfort-wise it wasn't quite what I expected. The waistband, even adjusted, puts a decent amount of pressure on my lower back and hips after extended wear, so it's not something I love using for long outings or errands that take more than 30-45 minutes. The hip seat itself is nice and sturdy, and the…

This baby hip carrier has been a game changer! It makes carrying my little one so much easier and takes a lot of pressure off my arms and back. It feels sturdy and secure, while still being comfortable to wear. I love how easy it is to put on and take off, and it’s especially helpful when I’m carrying my baby around the house or while running errands. Definitely a must-have for parents!

My daughter-in-law said she absolutely loves this little hip seat and it really protects her back carrying the little one around. The pockets make it carrying a diaper bag unnecessary.
