A hip seat solves a specific problem. A baby who wants to be held but not wrapped, an arm that has gone numb, a parent who needs one hand free at the school gate. It is not a wrap and it is not a soft structured carrier, and it will not put a newborn to sleep against your chest.

The honest limit comes from the owners rather than from us. Past twenty pounds the belt has to be pulled properly tight or the weight moves to your lower back, and long outings start to tell. For short carries and quick ups and downs it is the fastest thing in the house to put on.
